We're home

We're back from Watford. Encouraged, a bit sore from our night on the floor and very tired.

We did take a fair few pics of our road trip (none during the training on Saturday), and have found out a little bit about the projects we'll likely be working on (however things can change, and we're gonna have to learn how to 'go with the flow' of African culture - laid back and last minute!). Hopefully over the next week or so we'll have some time to share some of that with you.

We're a bit disappointed that we've not ended up on the same team or project - it makes this whole thing even more daunting. We have got to meet some of the folks on our teams though, and made a few friends over the weekend and are linking up with them on Facebook. This will be helpful as we can hopefully plan to share resources that we'll take to use out there - particularly for children's work. We also realise that we're there to serve, and we've been put on teams based on the skills and experience we have.

Now we've heard more about it, and even learned some Zulu, it seems a bit more real. We're actually doing this. We're GOING to South Africa.

Help.

However, one minor blip - my deposit hasn't gone through as apparently one of my references has gone missing which means I don't have approval to go yet. Eek! Prayer for that to be sorted quickly would be appreciated.
